The process of writing and of decorating are quite similar to each other—plus at some point both require editing! Lit & Fig is where these three interests of mine intersect.

I was born in sunny, surfy Southern California with a librarian’s knack for organization that was soon married up to an artist’s eye. Together, these abilities play well together no matter if I’m focused on writing, editing, or decorating.

My formative years were spent dressing windows and performers in the fashion world and the arts, respectively—but the publishing industry has been my primary home since 2003. I cut my teeth on illustrated picture books, graduated to cookbooks, and expanded my love of words, details, and the “story” into writing books and brand copy. This collective experience makes me skilled at communicating effectively and visually be it for a book, a website, or your living room.

With the listening skills of a therapist and my naturally calm temperament, I collaborate with my clients, because in the end, it’s not about my vision—it’s about theirs. And yours.  Literally and figuratively.
